20 Gbit/s Decision Feedback Loop for Optical Communications
نویسندگان
چکیده
A new concept for a high-speed data decision with a feedback loop for cancellation of intersymbol interferences (ISI) is proposed. Operation up to over 20 Gbit/s has been measured. The improved speed performance has been obtained by a new concept merging the parallel principle and a twin DC references approach.

40Gbit/s coherent optical receiver using a Costas loop.
A highly integrated 40 Gbit/s coherent optical receiver is reported using a Costas loop as a homodyne optical phase locked loop (OPLL). A photonic IC, an electrical IC, and a hybrid loop filter are characterized, and the feedback loop system is fully analyzed to build a stable homodyne OPLL. All components are integrated on a single substrate within the compact size of 10 × 10mm(2), and a 1.1 G...
متن کاملAdvances in Detection and Error Correction for Coherent Optical Communications: Regular, Irregular, and Spatially Coupled LDPC Code Designs
Forward error correction (FEC) in optical communications has been first demonstrated in 1988 [1]. Since then, coding technology has evolved significantly. This pertains not only to the codes but also to encoder and decoder architectures. Modern high-speed optical communication systems require high-performing FEC engines that support throughputs of 100 GBit/s or multiples thereof, that have low ...

متن کاملAsynchronous Digital Optical Regenerator for 4 x 40 Gbit/s WDM to 160 Gbit/s OTDM Conversion.
We propose and numerically analyse an asynchronous digital optical regenerator using a single-EAM loop and a novel neighbor-combine approach. It effectively re-synchronizes input signals with arbitrary phases to the local clock, and regenerates signals with high amplitude fluctuation and polarization mode dispersion. We demonstrate the application of this regenerator for 4x40 Gbit/s WDM to 160 ...

We experimentally demonstrate real-time C-band transmissions with up to 29 dB optical budget after 25 km propagation at 20 Gbit/s and 25 Gbit/s. Our solution uses pre-equalization and electro-optical components dedicaded for 10 Gbit/s transmissions.
